SECTION B - OTHER BOOT PROBLEMS

  1. When I boot up I see the message `Checking if DNS root cache needs to be updated...', and then nothing happens for quite a while. What's going on?

CEQURUX Firewall/VPN can automatically update the DNS root cache file by periodically fetching the latest version from the InterNIC FTP site. If you see this message and nothing seems to happen, then the FTP download may not be succeeding. This could be because your firewall does not have direct access to the Internet, but is behind another firewall, or because you have not completely or correctly configured your firewall after installation, or because a link is down somewhere. You can interrupt the process and continue booting by pressing Ctrl-C, which will abort the update, and assume the current file is still okay (so the update will be postponed). Or you can disable auto-updates completely from within the admin program.

The End.
