Intelligent Content Management

The CEQURUX Firewall allows you to manage your Internet content, filtering unwanted sites and services. Specific content management features include:

  • SmartBlocking: access to Web sites may be controlled by the installation of key words, instead of exhaustively listing unwanted sites.
  • Spam Protection: known sources of junk email may be blocked automatically by enabling the MAPS lookup feature. Alternatively, you may maintain your own email access lists.
  • HTTP Content Filtering: administrators may block the importation of Java, Active/X and VBS, and may disable banner advertising.
Access Control

Access to services can be controlled using any combination of the following attributes:

  • the service itself
  • the source or destination IP address and port
  • the time of day and day of week
  • available resources on the firewall
Very strong authentication is provided through a callback mechanism to the client using:
  • Identd for multi-user Unix systems
  • Windows NetBIOS lookups
  • S/Key One Time Password
  • RSA/DSA Challenge/Response
The last two are supported transparently on Windows 95/NT4.0 systems by the CEQURUX Authenticator.

Virtual Private Networking

Strongly encrypted VPN tunnels, using the industry-standard IPSEC protocol, ensures absolute privacy when communicating across public networks. A wide range of block ciphers, selectable on a per-tunnel basis, is offered: DES, 3DES, IDEA, Blowfish, Safer SK128, RC2, RC4, RC5 and SEAL. All ciphers use the maximum allowable key space. Maximum levels of security are available to all CEQURUX customers worldwide.

Administration

All day-to-day administration can be performed remotely using a sophisticated but user-friendly Windows management program.

Unix experts may prefer to manage the firewall using the full-screen console over an encrypted ssh session, while statistics and logs are available from any web browser using SSL.

Firewall installation is easy and automatic. The software loads automatically when booting from the CD; no operating system installation is required.
