Debugging with the Proxies

The firewall proxies can all take a `-D' argument which will enable the generation of debugging messages to the system log. This argument can be repeated to make the level of debug messages more verbose, although in most cases more than two will have no extra effect.

To use this, you will need to:

• Edit the /etc/cdsinetd.conf file, and add the `-D' argument to the appropriate entry. It should usually be the first command line argument, to prevent inadvertantly interfering with other arguments.
• Send a SIGHUP to cdsinetd to get it to reload its configuration. You can do this by using the command `notify cdsinetd'.

Note that after saving the configuration from the admin program (or remote admin program), the /etc/cdsinetd.conf file will be regenerated and any changes made by hand will be lost.
