The operation of many of the proxies and servers can be customised by adding key-value pairs to the .ini files for the respective processes (see Table 7.1). The details of what key-value pairs are available, and their effects, can be determined by reading the on-line manual pages for the programs. For example, the key disclaimer can be used in the file /usr/local/custom/recvmail.ini to specify a file containing a disclaimer message which is appended to every piece of outgoing mail; the command `man recvmail' will display the manual page for recvmail which documents this and other key value pairs.
