The firewall runs the scripts /etc/daily1 at 12:01 a.m. each morning, /etc/daily2 at 4:00 a.m. each morning, /etc/weekly at 3:30 a.m. each Saturday morning, and /etc/monthly at 5:30 a.m. on the first day of each month. These scripts are responsible for rotating and archiving log files, generating and mailing reports, and so on. By adding commands to the daily1, daily2, weekly and monthly files in /usr/local/custom (see Table 7.3), you can extend these activities.
