If you allow access to network news (NNTP), then you can use the Block Newsgroup Setup Screen (Figure 4.41) to specify a list of newsgroups that should be blocked, together with time specifications to tell when they should be blocked. The newsgroup strings need not be complete names; prefix matching is used.

For example, you could block all `alt' newsgroups with the string `alt', or most newsgroup containing pornographic pictures by using the string `alt.binaries.pictures'.
