Virtual Private Networks

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows you to transparently access hosts in private networks located behind CEQURUX firewalls or VPN gateways from other such private networks, by means of `IP tunnelling'. The tunnelled connections can be encrypted in real-time using any of a variety of block and stream based ciphers. VPNs give you the ability to use the Internet as a secure WAN backbone.

The CEQURUX Firewall supports both IPSec virtual private networking and a proprietary VPN mechanism for CEQURUX-to-CEQURUX secure tunnelling.

From the Virtual Private Networks Setup Screen (Figure 4.58), you can choose whether to set up IPSec VPNs, or CEQURUX proprietary VPNs.
